This release adds several important options and resolves various annoying bugs that was disturbing the workflow in the previous versions. It also introduces the Driver’s Camera View in the 3D viewing mode for the Model Trains Simulator – Power Edition.

To activate this new viewing mode, open a track plan, place a loco on the tracks, start the simulator in 3D mode and press the new Camera button
in the 3D Viewer’s toolbar – the camera will be relocated over the front or rear coupler of the active engine at the height of the cab. See how it will look in the demo sneak preview clip below:

Resolving SCARM Installation Issues

SCARM just keeps getting better all the time !
It would be perfect to export SCARM railroad model to the *.dxf format. It will help to design the structure elements of the model in AutoCad and to prepare elements in the workshop.
True vector export may appear in some of the next versions of SCARM.
With the new version, it seems that you cannot change the altitude of roads anymore. Somehow that function has dissappeared.
Just checked and everything with the heights feature seems to work fine for all tracks and roads in 0.9.37.
Unfortunately not with me
.
Normally I see numbers (“0″) in the arrows when I add a road section, or when I select it. Now I don’t anymore.
It works fine with tracks by the way.
That is strange – the roads are using the same internal routines like the tracks and there is no reason the heights to work only for the tracks. Is this happening for particular track plan or also when you start a new blank project?
As it seems the problem occurs with a new track plan. I’ve tried it with an existing track plan and no problem there. When I copy a road section from an existing plan to a new one, it doesn’t work either. So it seems only to occur with new track plans. The work around could be to start a new track plan in an existing one and then erase the old one (and save it under a new name of course
)
There is something wrong in the setup or in the libraries in your installation. Are you using custom libraries? Can you make a screenshots of the whole SCARM window and send them to
so I can see them too?
Just sent one
I haven’t added anything other libraries than those that come with the installation. I did install the Model Trains Simulator though, but that one appeared to be inaccessable.after the installation.
MTS requires permanent internet connection. If the menu item shows “inaccessible”, that is because it cannot connect to the server by some reason.

OK, I will check it, but it is only a minor issue.
I received the screenshot. However, I need to see the road section and the start point when the heights are enabled.
Please, place a road section, enable the heights, zoom to the start point and make one more screenshot. Then send it to me.
OK, seems that you forgot to enable the heights as they are not visible by default for blank projects. Problem solved
