Copy/Paste Issues When SCARM Runs Together With Firefox

Outdated
The information in this post is outdated/expired and is not relevant to the current release of SCARM.

If you have problems with Copy/Paste feature in SCARM, this may be related to the simultaneously running instance of Firefox v. 22 browser. It was confirmed that Firefox has a bug that breaks the links between applications, which are using the system clipboard. Read more about this in the links below.

Cannot copy/paste in Firefox 22
Clipboard empty after copying due to other applications having the clipboard open (883554)

Even that this is related to Firefox, it breaks the functionality of the clipboard and also prevents other running programs to use it.

There are two solutions for the moment:

• Close Firefox and SCARM, then reopen SCARM and continue to work. The Copy/Paste now should work normally.
• Upgrade to Firefox v. 23 where this should be fixed (v. 23 should be available from 6 Aug 2013).

If above solutions does not help, post a comment in the comments section below and explain in details what is situation with Copy/Paste on your PC.

Update
It was confirmed that Copy/Paste issues in SCARM are not related only to Firefox browser. The problem should be fixed in SCARM v. 0.9.22 bugfix update, released on 10 Aug 2013. Download it form www.scarm.info.

  1. This problem still exists as of March 1, 2015.
Well, I cannot say for sure it is Firefox related, but SCARM allowed me to cut, but not paste, but paste worked again after SCARM was restarted. (And I had been using Firefox.) Using SCARM 0.9.29 and Firefox 35.0.1 on Win 7 Pro 64-bit.

  2. Sometimes there are occasional minor problems with the copy/paste and the clipboard. These are solved with restarting. However, if the problem persists, write again here and I will check it.
